The Purloined Letter BY Edgar Allan Poe
The
Purloined Letter
The purloined letter written by Edgar
Allan Poe . the short story represents the secret of someone. And it is a
detective story. It is the third of the three stories featuring the detective
Auguste Dupin these stories are considered to be important early forerunners of
the modern story.
The beginning of the story the unnamed
narrator is meeting with the famous Parisian amateur detective Auguste Dupin
and discussing some of his most celebrated cases. When they are joined by the
perfect of the police, a man known only as G- the perfect has a case he would
like to discuss with Dupin. It’s my point of view the short story “the
purloined letter” is all about the it’s kind of political game. The hidden
identity of someone.
“ The purloined letter” can open
discussions regarding the talking of power, the position of the monarch and of
women in 19th century society the nature of deductive reasoning ,
and the literary convention of gothic double.
