                                          “ The Birthday party”

The play “the birthday party” written by Harold  Pinter. the play divided into three act. it is also a theatre of absurd and use the comedy of menace. also use the pause and silence the second act in Birthday party celebrating. we can see the meaninglessness and nothingness of human existence life under constant shadow of fear and menace it is main view about the play “the birthday party”.

The beginning in  the play setting in living and dining room of a seaside boarding house somewhere on the coast of England.

The Birthday Party is full of disjoined information that defies efforts to distinguished between reality and illusion.  the play is quite difference from the movie. while viewing movie we can see the typical characteristics of the play. characteristics like painteresque , pause , silence, menace, lurking danger ?. the term " Painteresque" it means ' of or relating to the British playwright, Harold Pinter, or his work'. also we can find that Pinter’s play are typically characterized by implications of threat and strong feeling produced through colloquial language, apparent triviality, and long pauses. Pinter’s drama was first perceived as a variation of absurd theatre, but has later more aptly been characterized as ' comedy of menace'. also the life under constant shadow of fear and menace.

We can see in this play while viewing camera focuses on the head of  McCain when he is playing blind man's buff. The Birthday Party is "a deeply political play about the individual's imperative need for resistance. the game is also connected with the political game because political game always play the vital role in the world. the turn of Stanley in the game. we can see Stanley glasses remove and without glasses he was can't see the human. The main theme of the play is ‘Absurdity’. ‘Absurdity’

‘The birthday party’ is a comedy of menace . the play also defined the tragedy with a number of comic element . it is a comedy which also produces on overwhelming tragic effect. throughout the play we are kept amused and yet throughout the paly we can find ourselves also one brink of terror. some indefinable and vague fear keeps our nerves on an edge. we feel uneasy all the time even when we are laughing or smiling with amusement. this dual quality gives to the play a unique character.

We can see the newspaper as a symbol of the play and the movie. the newspaper, a means of communication that the dramatist uses ironically. Pinter's characters hide themselves behind the newspaper in an effort to dodge conversation so, the character of Petey and meg boles while Petey reading newspaper  and another image of  the broken newspaper.

The essay ' Art , Truth and Politics' yes, It never happened. Nothing ever happened. Even while it was happening it wasn't happening. It didn't matter. It was of no interest. In the movie we can find that the Stanley represent under developed\ developing nation and  Nat\McCann , developed, powerful nations like USA, UK. also everything is connected with money . political process is not the truth it is power.

It is my opinion i would like to share my view about the characters and the actor.
1) Stanley Webber - Amir khan
2) Meg Boles- Jaya Bacchan
3) Petey boles- Amitab Bacchan
