Midnight Children and The Reluctant Fundamentalist

   My  review about the movie “midnight children’s”  director by Deepa Mehta and “ the Reluctant Fundamental” director by Meera Nair . the both are post-colonial.the post-colonial is the study of a culture after the physical and or political territory of an oppressive power. colonialism is a dialect process. It’s  divided into two part colonized and colonizer. Colonizer gives identity crises. we have to power to choose the identity. The both are movie depends upon the  term post-colonialism.

11)     Midnight children by Deepa Mehta.  In this movie we find that salim Sinai was Narrator. It is historical fiction. Also we can see the three generation and forth also coming there. The film is also worth  watching to understand ‘magic realism’. And another more important thing is that it is related to the power politics. Power politics is connected with post-colonialism because we have to power we rule our them.  The another important thing is at 14^th august 1947 midnight mumtaz give  the born of  Salim Sinai and Shiva and the at that time also the freedom of India “India will awake , from the freedom”. Later, how parvati use the magic realism, “ magic realism in relation to the post- colonial and midnight’s children” the technique of magic realism finds liberal expression throughout the movie. Salim also at midnight he talk about the all midnight children. Also the  difference between the salim and Shiva because salim was not the son of mumtaz and also one main difference one has poor and another was  rich. Post –colonial view about the war between two country. A film worth watching to have a peep at the political controversies like forced vasectomy , emergency (at the born of Adam) reflect  the situation , indo, birth of Bangladesh and the rise of Indira Gandhi as the god-incarnation. “exile ! I learned about power” –Shiva. This line also reflect the colonialism .the midnight children is the point about  pessimism. The controversy between the Hindu and Muslim because salim was Muslim and Shiva was hinds.  At last end , Rushdie  Assure us that the riot of color and incident and allusion he is narrated was actually , at heart always just about love, which will come as a relief to viewers confounded by what’s come before.

22)     “The Reluctant Fundamentalist “ by Meera Nair. It is political thriller drama film. Changez khan as a narrator . in the time and place of Lahore, Pakistan 2011 and how the life change of changez khan. The Reluctant fundamentalist  is a political thriller film. Also we can see the American Patriotism. Meera Nair thoughtfully textured drama also the misunderstanding and harsh socio-political realities  and a mirror of American and Pakistani relation themselves.  The Reluctant    fundamental film Mohsin Hamid(changez khan) tried to see the similarities between the American capitalist corporation  and Islamic terrorist groups.

                   “ The reluctant fundamentalist”  as post-colonialism is study of a culture after a physical and political withdrawal of an oppressive power . here changez voice is under the America, for him it is difficult to survive his self in American colony. All of them are looking different on changez because he belongs to Muslim community, are which near to Terrorism . so his voice suppressed by American. It is all about search for identity , power-superiority , relationship crisis.

View about 'To The Lighthouse' by Virginia Woolf

 My view about the novel 'To thr Lighthouse' by Virginia Woolf.

1) Virginia Woolf the novel 'to the lighthouse'. She uses the narrative technique in the stream of consciousness in the  novel. To the lighthouse the narrator speak in the third person and describe the characters and action subjectively. Here , writer use the stream of consciousness narrative technique . The stream of consciousness describes the unbroken flow of perceptions walking mind. In narrative technique stream of consciousness use two basic types of inferior monologue.

1) Direct Inferior Monologue

2) Indirect Inferior Monologue

          The stream of consciousness is the name applied specifically to a mode of narration that undertake to reproduce without narrator's intervention the full of characters mental process in which sense perception mingle.

            Mrs.Ramsay tells a story of James of Fisherman's Wife. The story of fisherman's wife reflect happiness of fisherman and grid of woman it is totally feminist story. To the lighthouse also  used the indirect inferior monologue in the stream of consciousness technique. It is the free form of conventions. Mrs.Ramsay remain present end of the novel. She always remain alive the power always transfer but energy always die. Virginia Woolf successfully overcomes the shortcoming of stream of consciousness novel of being incoherent and chaotic and achieves great explicitness , coherence , vividness and surface unity in presenting the characters inner world.

2)  in the novel 'To The Lighthouse' . The symbol of Refrigerator it is a preserve thing and it is the symbol of change also Refrigerator it's change of technology changing and presumably improving human culture. Technology also refined the culture and the refined form of culture.

             Here, the essay 'Sweetness and Light' idea about the light beware it us darkness it's not light. Mrs.Ramsay she triumphs through these difficult times and demonstrates an ability  to make something significant and lasting form the most ephemeral of circumstances such as a dinner party.

3) To The Lighthouse  by Virginia Woolf. Mrs.Ramsay as a narrator in the novel. To the lighthouse there are many great symbol use in the novel like , lighthouse , lily's painting ,Ramsay house , the bour's skull etc........ the title lighthouse also suggest  as a symbol. The lighthouse it stands alone and tall in both light and darkness and it along with its bacon is focal point which symbolizes strength . Here darkness also reflect  the someone death. At night Mrs.Ramsay died. Also Ramsay's house  type physical condition of the house represents psychological condition of the characters.

      The play Macbeth , the scene of the smell of blood in the hand of Macbeth and lady macbeth here, we present the psychological condition of  the character. Symbolically the summer house to the lighthouse or the lighthouse to the lighthouse.

" lighthouse is an object of desire because i want this , i achieve this one"

                    The lily's painting also symbolizes  woman’s struggle in patriarchal and struggle against gender convention Charles Tansley's "woman can't paint or write"

          But Lily's desire to express Mrs.Ramsay essence as a wife and mother in the painting. The painting also represents  dedication to a feminine artistic vision , expressed through lily's anxiety over showing it to William bake.  The end of novel lily's decides that her vision depends on balance and synthesis. How to bring  together disparate thing in harmony in this respect her project mirrors Woolf writing. Which synthesize the perceptions of her many characters to come to balanced and truthful portrait of the world. Also i added one point about the painting .... always self decide that the paint is complete or not.

4) 'To The Lighthouse' is based on Greek myth. In this novel virginia woolf use various myth. Joseph blotner has also use the famous myth like the pagan myth or Oedipus myth. The myth of kronos and Rhea is relation between father and mother. Kronos has eating children. But they are so innocent. Here, Rhea is represented as a mother.  The myth of Homric Hymns it is the praise of divinity or god . In this  reference we find that how metaphor became reality. Use in the Homric Hymns metaphor is  more important, literature is full of metaphor.

The myth of omphalos also related with shiv.and the another myth of Demeter. Demeter as a goddess of agriculture and production it's connected with natural phenomenon. Demeter represted as a wife. In all myth we can find that mother is the centre in myth. Here, Demeter centre in myth. In 'To The Lighthouse' Mrs.Ramsay  represented as a wife, obedient mother, she also centre in the novel.

5)  yes... it is my point of view ... novel is better than film. Because if we read the novel we can find that some imagination and poetical flaw in our mind... also one more important the language.
